... we, that is my husband Jürgen, our sons Lukas and Jonas and me, Carmen Paul. We are living together with our Ridgebacks in a small village in Saarland near the woods.

... my passion for dogs raised already very early. At the age of 10 years, I began to walk the dogs in the village what did not amuse my mum. Especially she was not amused when I was someday bringing a Great Dane with me at home. At the age of 12 years, after long discussions with my parents, finally a dream came true and I received a dog on my own. It was a black Labrador named Batzi. She accompanied my life during 10 wunderful years. Since this time, there has always been living a dog at my side.

In the year of 2004, we visited a dog expo in Saarbrücken. It was the first time I got in contact with Rhodesian Ridgeback´s, which had fascinated me already many years before.

After long talks with the breeders, visits of some breeding places as well as after reading Ridgeback literature, for me it was certain that my next dog would be ... a Ridgeback!

This deep wish for having a Rhodesian Ridgeback was still fullfiled in the same year by the breeder Jolan Hellebrekers Huizenga from the Netherlands with the male Thokoza Machano.

In 2007 our Kennel has been protected by the FCI/VDH assosiation with the name AKONO NAYOMA.
